You don't need to retake the full Foundation course. The ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) Bridge is a short delta training that covers only the key changes introduced at Foundation level. Complete a short exam and achieve the ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) certification — plus renew all your existing ITIL certifications for 3 years.

Certification Renewal

All PeopleCert Global Best Practice certifications, including ITIL® Foundation (Version 5), need to be renewed every 3 years. You have two options to keep your certification current:

Option A — Pass any ITIL® exam
  • Taking and passing any ITIL® exam before your renewal date extends the validity of all your ITIL® certifications for another three years.
Option B — Collect CPD points with PeopleCert Plus Membership
  • With an active PeopleCert Plus subscription, you can renew by logging at least 20 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points per year for 3 consecutive years. PeopleCert Plus also gives you access to industry insights, emerging trends, and best practices to stay current in your field.

Prerequisites

  • There are no formal prerequisites for this training or exam.
  • Basic familiarity with IT or service management concepts is helpful but not required.

Is ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) an entry-level certification?

Yes. No prior ITIL certification is required. ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) is the recommended starting point for anyone beginning their ITIL journey.

Who should attend ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) training?

This course is ideal for IT professionals, service managers, product managers, product owners, team leaders, consultants, and anyone interested in understanding digital product and service management principles. It's also the first step for those planning to progress to higher-level ITIL® certifications.

What is included in the training package?

Each enrollment includes the official ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) eBook, official Learner Kit, exam voucher (online proctored), and practice exam questions. Additional inclusions vary by delivery format — see the training format comparison above.

How is the exam conducted?

The official PeopleCert ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) exam is online proctored (available anytime, anywhere), with 40 multiple-choice questions, 60 minutes duration (non-native English speakers receive an extra 15 minutes), closed-book, and a passing score of 26/40 (65%).

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Upon passing the exam, you will receive an official ITIL® Foundation (Version 5) certificate issued by PeopleCert.

Does the ITIL® Foundation certification expire?

All PeopleCert Global Best Practice certifications need to be renewed after 3 years. You can renew by passing any ITIL® exam (which extends the renewal date for all your ITIL® certifications by three years), or by collecting and logging CPD points with a PeopleCert Plus Membership (at least 20 CPD points per year for 3 consecutive years).

How long will I have access to the eLearning?

You'll have 12 months of access to the eLearning platform from the date of activation.

Can I upgrade from eLearning to Live Training?

Yes. You can upgrade to the Live Instructor-Led Training anytime by paying the difference in course fees (before your exam voucher is issued).

Can I reschedule my live training date?

Yes, you can reschedule or change your training cohort before your exam voucher is issued. Once the voucher is issued, changes are no longer possible.

Do you offer group or corporate training?

What is your pass rate?
