What Is PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner?

PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner (Version 2) is the advanced certification in the PRINCE2 Agile scheme. Where Foundation builds understanding, Practitioner is about application: you learn to tailor PRINCE2 Agile to real projects, guide delivery teams, and use agile techniques to deliver measurable business value while keeping governance intact.


The course shows you how to translate agile principles into practical action, manage delivery by stages, engage stakeholders early, and govern with flexibility. You also work hands-on with agile tools such as MoSCoW prioritisation, burn charts, and Kanban boards, so you leave able to apply them on your own projects.


PRINCE2 Agile is developed and administered by PeopleCert and is recognised worldwide. As a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organization, AGILEPM HUB delivers Practitioner through self-paced eLearning and live instructor-led training, both with the exam voucher included.


Within the PRINCE2 qualification scheme, Practitioner is the second of two modules. Completing it alongside Foundation earns you the PRINCE2 Agile Expert designation.

Where Does PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner Fit in the PRINCE2 Certification Pathway?

PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner is the second and final module in the PRINCE2 Agile Expert stream. The path is PRINCE2 Agile Foundation first, then PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner. Holding both gives you the PRINCE2 Agile Expert designation.


Practitioner has a prerequisite, so you take it once you hold Foundation or an equivalent earlier Agile certification. After it, you have completed a full designation in the PRINCE2 framework.


PRINCE2 Agile Expert is one of six designations in the wider PRINCE2 framework, alongside PRINCE2 Project Manager, Programme Manager, Portfolio Manager, Risk Manager, and PMO Manager. Holding all six leads to PRINCE2 Master.

Certification Renewal

All PeopleCert Global Best Practice certifications need to be renewed every 3 years. You have two options to keep your certification current:

Option A — Pass any PRINCE2® exam
  • Taking and passing any PRINCE2® exam before your renewal date extends the validity of all your PRINCE2® certifications for another three years.
Option B — Collect CPD points with PeopleCert Plus Membership
  • With an active PeopleCert Plus subscription, you can renew by logging at least 20 Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points per year for 3 consecutive years. PeopleCert Plus also gives you access to industry insights, emerging trends, and best practices to stay current in your field.

Prerequisites

To sit the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam, you need to hold one of the following:

  • PRINCE2 Agile Foundation (Version 2), or
  • Any PRINCE2 Agile (Version 1) certification

Exam results are not released without proof of completion, so make sure your prerequisite certificate is on record.

What is PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner?

What are the prerequisites for PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner?

You need to hold PRINCE2 Agile Foundation (Version 2) or any PRINCE2 Agile (Version 1) certification before you sit the exam. Results are not released without proof of completion.

What does the exam involve?

The exam is 50 multiple choice questions over 150 minutes. It is open book, and the pass mark is 60%, which is 30 correct answers. It is taken online with proctoring, and a voucher is included with your course.

What is included when I enrol?

Both formats include the official learner resources, practice exams, and an online proctored exam voucher. eLearning adds around 9 hours of self-paced interactive content with case studies and practical exercises. Live training is an instructor-led course.

What is the difference between the eLearning and live training options?

eLearning is self-paced and you study on your own schedule. Live instructor-led training is a 2-day course where you learn directly from an accredited trainer and can ask questions in real time. Both lead to the same certification and both include the exam voucher.

Which designation does PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner lead to?

Practitioner completes the PRINCE2 Agile Expert designation. Once you hold both Foundation and Practitioner (Version 2), you are a PRINCE2 Agile Expert.

Is the certification accredited?

Does the certification expire?
